The Feldenkrais Method® is a somatic education process that aims to restore organic function to the human neuromuscular system. By reducing pain and effort, we cultivate a nervous system that is quiet enough to perceive subtle differences in basic patterns of movement rooted in human function. As our self image becomes richer and more detailed, we gain the ability to move with more grace, potency, and intention- resulting in less pain, better balance, and a new depth of autonomy in healing and self-regulation.
This process may be helpful for anyone experiencing muscle pain, tightness, difficulty sleeping, minor depression, or anxiety, or anyone who wants to deepen their embodiment in an existing practice. In each class or session, there will be tools to take with you that can be used to evoke the effects of the lessons when needed. Over time, these effects will accumulate and manifest in a unified self that is more relaxed, adaptable, and integrated.
